Camaco
LLC: V I Engineering Inc. developed a Seat Back
Audit Test System for Camaco LLC. Two stands were
produced for Camaco that test nine types of seat backs
functionally. The test is plain and straight forward
for the manufacturing environment. Text for each step
is displayed for the worker. Indicators show when
a seat back and shafts are ship position or if they

Johnson Controls: The Johnson controls seat tester uses an air cylinder to apply force to the back of a seat gradually forward and reverse to plot the displacement vs. the force applied to a seat. This identifies 'chuck', or the amount of seat displacement that occurs when a small force is applied to the seatback. Minimizing these movements in the seat significantly improves rider comfort. Aisin World Corp. of America: V I Engineering created a Seat Durability Test System for Aisin World Corp. of America: Aisin's large seat tester requirements push the boundaries of what linear actuators can do. Chrysler Tech Center: V I Engineering has developed a LabVIEW based data acquisition system for the Emissions Test Lab of the Chrysler Tech Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan. An SCXI chassis, 5B modules and a PCI data acquisition card are used to acquire signals from multiple analog and digital channels from the vehicle emissions test cell. Ford Motor Company: V I Engineering, Inc. was contracted by Ford Motor Company to update the control system for their HYGE sled. The HYGE system consists of a 12" diameter pneumatic ram that is used to accelerate a two-ton sled on a 100' track. The applied acceleration pulses are tailored to mimic the acceleration profiles observed in vehicle-barrier crash tests. In HYGE tests, a single ruggedized automobile frame can be used repeatedly to study air bag and passenger restraint system performance.
