Lab Data Analysis System
This application provides an analysis and reporting service
to engineers across the a major American automobile manufacturer's
safety laboratories. National Instruments DIAdem™
is used as an analysis engine and is controlled externally
via a COM+ controller. When a test is run, each data channel
is analyzed automatically for abnormalities and the test
stand operator is presented with a quick plot of all data
channels to verify data integrity before the raw data
is submitted for analysis and reporting. Data is then
submitted to the server application via web services along
with a definition of how it should be filtered and presented.
Reports are automatically generated in a .pdf format and
stored in a results database along with the raw data.
This advanced system was developed on a J2EE framework
with an Oracle database and uses Weblogic web services.
The DIAdem based quick plot client is used on approximately
80 test cell computers. There are several hundred requesting
engineers that utilize the results and reports from this
system. The scope includes retiring the current data analysis
system that utilized an outdated architecture hosted by
a remote mainframe.
